Every project starts with a high level discussion to help establish the preliminary scope of work. We’ll explore things like lighting fixture options, control concepts, motorized window treatments and more. It’s a chance for you to get familiar with technology options and for our team to gain an understanding of how we can design a system tailored to your family's lifestyle.
Based on a previously defined scope of work we’ll begin designing the various components of an environmentally integrated home. Multiple levels of performance and budget ranges are examined and submitted for your consideration. The goal is to establish an agreed upon direction for the overall project build.
Technical documents are created as instructional guidelines for the project and are used as a common reference by the design/build team. A well maintained document set also exposes potential roadblocks before moving to implementation and maintains the fluidity of the build. Any field changes to the original scope are recorded and distributed as a final as-built for future reference.
The core program is completed no less than 21 days prior to the scheduled move-in date with more detailed adjustments made as the lighting system is brought online. Further refinements are programmed after the homeowner experiences the system for themselves. This methodology minimizes bottlenecks leading up to the completion of the project and guarantees the performance of the system on day one.
Before being given a clean bill of health every system is thoroughly tested to confirm various metrics. Each function is individually activated and verified to meet operational integrity. Unexpected behavior is documented, corrected and subject to a second round of testing. This process, although intensive, ensures that you can be confident that your new system will perform as expected.
